Let us pamper Mom with these special Mother's Day activities including: free gift for each Mom at check-in, Mary Kay Makeover with prizes and discounts (no purchase necessary to participate), Mother & Daughter Look-A-Like Contest, and a special Gift Basket Drawing for one special Mom. Each Mom who participates in the scheduled activities will get a gift/special treat and each Mom camping with us will get a free game of mini golf. May 16th - 18th ~ Games Galore Marathon Weekend
Do you have what it takes to go the distance? If so… Get ready! Get set! Go! Test your stamina and endurance in the prestigious Pretzel Race, the speedy Spud Relay Race, and the super Sweatpants Relay. Find out if you're quarterback material in the QB Football Throwing Competition. Let's all go out to the ballgame and participate in the MLC Plunger Baseball Game. (Bring own glove.) Start your summer with Memorial Day Weekend FUN! A weekend of chocolate, chocolate everywhere. A chocolate lovers dream come true. Just pick and choose what you want to do. Chocolate-be prepared to eat it, wear it, and have fun with it. We'll have chocolate crafts ($/pre-register/limited space), chocolate candy bar bingo ($), chocolate pudding eating contest, chocolate tug of war, the fabulous and famous chocolate slip & slide, and more. July 1st - July 6th ~ Independence Day Celebration
Help us celebrate Independence Day all week long. Something will be going each day including: week long Patriotic Red, White, and Blue Site Decorating Contest: Red, White, and Blue Bicycle Parade; Dog/Cat Red, White, and Blue Costume Parade (all pets must be on a leash); Super Soaker Day games (plan to get wet); special "Light The Night Parade" (bring your own source of light to shine-no sparklers, fireworks, or anything that can cause a spark or flame); visit from Smokey The Bear; crafts ($/pre-register/limited space); Kids Sing-a-Long; Teen Pool Party; Remote Control Car Race (bring your own remote control car); movies; Gospel Singing At The Lake; Sunday Worship Service; plus much, much, more. Hook the treasure, walk the plank, and swab the poop deck. Join in the peg-leg race, the pirate gold fish eating contest, the pirate costume contest, a treasure hunt, pirate movies, guess the # of gold coins in the treasure chest, and more. July 18th - 20th ~ Luau Polynesian Weekend
Aloha! Are you ready for a tropical vacation? Well, pack up your grass skirt, Hawaiian shirt, and the rest of your luau gear and join us for a MLC "tropical island" getaway weekend. And if you can't find your luau gear, no problem, the MLC store will have things available ($). Activities for all ages: crafts ($/pre-register/limited space); games-musical island, coconut relay, and island basketball; contests-pineapple eating contest and a Luau Polynesian Site Decorating contest; a Luau Pool Party-complete with a live DJ, hula hoop and limbo contest, and the wackiest Polynesian Hawaiian tourist costume contest; movies; and more. Christmas in July? Yes, you can celebrate Christmas any time of the year. So, help us celebrate "Christmas In July" all week long. Week long Christmas Site Decorating Contest; crafts ($/pre-register/limited space); games; Christmas caroling; kids, have your picture taken with Santa (bring your own camera); Christmas movies; wagon rides; and a special Sunday Morning Worship Service. Free Christmas gift wrapping if you buy your Christmas gifts in the MLC store. And, help make a difference in a child's life this Christmas by bringing a toy when you check-in that will be donated to our local Salvation Army 2008 Children's Christmas Toy Drive. August 1st - 3rd ~ 50s Weekend
Hey campers! It's those "Happy Days"!! A 50s Blast From The Past!!! Slick back your hair, put on your poodle skirt and saddle shoes, and "stroll" on down to join us for: a Car Show Cruise In; Sock Hop; DJ; contests-costume & hair-do, hula hoop, bubblegum blowing, limbo, and cat/dog 50s costume contest (all pets must be on a leash); movies; a Sunday Morning Worship Service; and more. August 8th - 10th ~ Hoe Down In The Hills Week
Ya'll come! Ya'll come! Well, ya'll come to see us this weekend and sit with us a spell. There will be somethin' goin' on for everybody. Kids will do a musical craft ($/pre-register/limited space) and learn to sing a song. All of us will listen to some fine live bluegrass and mountain music. And as a special treat, the kids will join in singin' and playin' their song. Also, campers bring your own bluegrass/mountain musical instruments and join in the "Camper's Jam Session". We'll watch an exhibition of a "Grand Ole Opry Style" Square Dance Team and then join in for the Hoe Down Square Dance (or just sit and enjoy). Bring your hillbilly duds or square dance duds for a costume contest. Plus, we'll be swimmin', watchin' movies, attendin' a Sunday Morning Worship Service, and more. Ya'll come!!! August 15th - 17th ~ Beach Party Weekend
Calling all Beach Bunnies and Beach Bums! Brush off the sand and join us for "Beach Fun In The Sun". Participate in the Beach Theme Site Decorating Contest. Join us poolside for beach music with a live DJ; games; and contests-hula hoop and limbo (how low can you go?). August 22nd - 24th ~ Family Day AND Gospel Singing At The Lake
Enjoy a day with the whole family. Family activities include Camper Says, Three Legged Race, Candy Bar Bingo ($), Gospel Singing At The Lake, family wagon rides, movies, and more. Also, there will be a special Kids Sing-A-Long. And for an extra bonus and gift: you'll get points for each activity you participate in, extra points if you are the winner of that activity, extra points if you attend The Gospel Singing At The Lake, special extra points for the Sing-A-Long Kids who participate in the Gospel Singing At The Lake, and extra points if you attend and participate in all scheduled activities on Saturday (does not include movies). Points will be totaled. The highest individual point winner and the highest family point winner will get a special prize. Also, attend the Sunday Morning Worship Service. Let's go team!!! Show your team spirit by participating in Your Favorite Team Site Decorating Contest. And Game Day; enjoy tailgating with fellow campers with popcorn ($) and snacks ($) from the store-or bring your favorite tailgating food. (No alcoholic beverages permitted.) Participate in the best football/cheerleading costume contest. Then watch West Virginia University and East Carolina play live on the Big Screen at the Pavilion. Details at check-in.
Hey, Grandparents…this is your weekend too. Come celebrate Grandparents Day with us and join in the following activities: If you camp for the weekend and bring along your grandchildren, they get to camp one night free; contests with prizes: Grandparent with most grandchildren camping with you and the youngest and oldest Grandparent; and crafts. September 12th - 14th~ Fall Spectacular Weekend
Begin your fall with MLC activities. Apple printing, a bucket toss, obstacle course relay, hay wagon races, face painting, and for the little ones-pickin'-up-ducks. Enjoy a late afternoon hayride through the campground. We invite you to spring into fall with us. Details at check-in.
September 19th - 21st~ Hangin' Around Weekend
We invite you to come to MLC and enjoy a good time just "hangin' around". Walk the trails; go fishin' on the lakeshore; play mini golf; shop in the MLC Store; or watch the kids play on the playground, the deer walk by your campsite, and the birds go flyin' by in the sky. Or, sit around your campsite and relax. What ever you choose, you'll have a wonderful time at MLC just "hangin' around" with us.
September 26th and 28th ~ Halloween I
Participate in the Halloween Site Decorating Contest, Halloween costume contest, Trick or Treat from campsite to campsite (bring a bag of candy to give out), face painting, crafts ($/pre-register/limited space), games, Halloween movies, and more. Also, watch West Virginia University and Marshal University (both University's in WV) play on the Big Screen at the Pavilion. Tailgate with fellow campers-popcorn ($) and snacks ($) at the store-or bring your favorite tailgating food. (No alcoholic beverages permitted.) Enjoy Halloween and Football with MLC. October 3rd - 5th ~ Halloween II AND Columbus Day Weekend
Participate in the Halloween Site Decorating Contest, Halloween costume contest (child, adult, pet). October 17, 18 and October 24th-25th ~ Mountain Lake Campground Annual Haunted Trail-900 Feet Of Terror
Take a walk thru our woods-if you dare! And-if you make it thru???-we will give you a wagon ride back up to the Gift Shop. There you will find spooktacular prices on hot chocolate and nachos to-liven you back up!! Then attend a free scary movie, which will run continually throughout the Haunted Trail hours. (There will be a Haunted Trail ($) admission charge. Campers and the general public may attend (No costumes can be worn down the trail). The Haunted Trail is calling you. Will you answer?
